TOMRA Cleanaway, one of Australia's leading Container Deposit Scheme operators, recently entrusted Broadtec Group to undertake a CCTV Audit & Standardisation Program across 10 Victorian facilities.

The project involved auditing more than 100 CCTV cameras and associated infrastructure, delivering detailed asset documentation, system assessments and strategic recommendations to support future security planning and standardisation.

This project involves the deployment of a new integrated PA, Evacuation & Lockdown system across a NSW Public School campus, leveraging the school’s existing fibre optic backbone and structured cabling infrastructure to deliver reliable campus-wide communications with minimal disruption.

The project is delivering clear voice announcements, emergency messaging and daily operational communications across the entire campus. 

A special mention to Brendan, pictured in the photos, who made the move to Albury in January to join our growing team. Brendan is leading the delivery and commissioning of this project and has done an outstanding job preparing and configuring the system hardware.

Over the December–January school holiday period, the Broadtec team delivered a series of security infrastructure upgrades across multiple NSW public schools on behalf of School Infrastructure NSW.
All works were completed during the holiday shutdown to minimise disruption and ensure sites were ready for staff and students returning in Term 1.
Delivered as part of the program:

• 150+ metres of trenching and conduit
• 50+ CCTV cameras deployed
• 4 × gate video intercoms deployed with access control
  

​These enhancements resulted in improved perimeter security, clearer visibility at key entry points, and systems that align with Department of Education requirements, thereby supporting safer school environments and day-to-day operations.

Background
The Federation Council’s Corowa Depot was facing critical mobile coverage issues within its office areas, with staff unable to make or receive phone calls or access essential web-based tools such as email on their mobile devices. These limitations significantly affected productivity, safety, and operational communication. Broadtec was engaged to design and deploy a reliable solution to enhance indoor mobile signal coverage across both the Telstra and Optus networks.

​Solution
​Broadtec designed and installed a multi-carrier Distributed Antenna System (DAS) tailored for the site. This included:

• 2x CEL-FI GO G41 Repeaters, one configured for Telstra and one for Optus – providing up to 100 dB gain.
• High-gain external LPDA antennas mounted on a 3m collared roof mast, capturing strong outdoor signals.
• Slim series ceiling antennas and a Powertec 4x4 hybrid combiner, distributing signal efficiently throughout the office.
• PTL-400 coaxial cabling and professional-grade termination.
• Full system compliance with ACMA and carrier regulations.

The project was executed with full site safety compliance, including roof access harnessing and alignment tools as shown in the deployment photos.

​Results
​Upon completion, a post-installation test revealed dramatic improvements in mobile performance:

• Telstra and Optus devices achieved consistent speeds of 50 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up.
• Users could reliably make and receive calls, access mobile data, and run cloud-based applications.
• Coverage was confirmed in previously blacked-out zones including the workshop, admin areas, and vehicle bays.

​This successful DAS deployment reflects Broadtec’s expertise in enterprise-grade mobile signal enhancement and RF design. The Corowa Depot now benefits from uninterrupted mobile coverage across Telstra and Optus networks—empowering staff and ensuring operational reliability.
